 Unit 16: Doing the housework
 (Lesson 1)
A. Aim:
 By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
 - Recognize and pronounce the letter Ww and its sound correctly
 - Understand, recognize and say the four Ww words

 window, water, washing, Wendy
* Teaching aids: overhead, realia
B. Procedure:
I. Warm-up: 
 Watching the Letter Ff video
II. New lesson:
1. Listen, point and repeat: 
 - Introduction of letter Ww, its sound and how to pronounce the words with Ww
- Write on board the letter Ww to introduce to the students the new lesson.
- Instruct students how to pronounce the letter and the sound by saying: “This is the 
letter W/d^blju/. The letter W says /w/.”
- Repeat several times and check students’ pronunciation 
- Use parts of the body to introduce foot and face, then use the pictures to introduce 
football and father.
- Have sts practice reading the words many times by playing game: Pointing/ Slap 
the board
- Checking understanding about the words
2. Look and match (Workbook):
- Show the pictures
- Elicit names of numbers in the pictures
- Get sts point and say them one by one
- Call some sts point and say
- Have sts match the words with right pictures.
- Go around to look and check sts’ work 
- Give feedback

3. Look and circle (Workbook):
 - Show the content of the exercise
 - Point to each picture, have sts say what they are in the pictures
 - Run through the 4 words given – Sts listen and repeat 
 - Have sts look at the words given and circle the right pictures.
 - Get sts’ answer 
 - Correct and comment

III. Reinforcement:

 Unit 16: Doing the housework
 (Lesson 2)
A. Aim:
 The lesson helps students be able to:
 - practice words with w sound in situation;
 - Practice using words with w sound in simple sentences by chanting
 - Practice listening w sound in the 4 words and words with sound.

 Reading, Listening, Speaking
* Teaching aids: Phonics cards
B. Procedure:
I. Warm-up: Gap filling (t/f)

II. Procedure:
1. Point and say:
- Show the pictures
- Elicit name of the person, names of things and activity in the pictures: Wendy, 
window, washing, water 
- Get sts point and say one by one
- Call some sts point and say
- Give feedback 2. Chant :
 - Show the chant with words with letter Ww on the board
 - Read through the sentences
 - Have listen and repeat the sentences
 - Play the tape a few times.
 - Ask them to listen again and repeat.
 - Have sts practice chanting in groups of 4
 - Model the actions for the chant, ask sts to do along
 - Call some groups chant and act aloud
 - Give feedback
3. Listen and tick: 
- Elicit names of things and people in pairs in the pictures given
- Give feedback
- Have sts run through the words
- Present what they have to do in this part
- Play the CD. Have the students listen and tick (twice)
- Get sts’ answers
- Play the CD again. The students listen and check their answer 
- Give feedback

III. Projects (Workbook): Find and colour Wendy, water and window
- Show the picture on the screen 
- Ask sts to find where is Wendy/ water/ window
- Have sts listen to the things, name that teacher says and colour them one by one

IV. Consolidation:
 - Recite the chant
