2. Competences: 
 -Correctly pronounce the words question, square, quiz and say the sentence pattern: 
He’s/ She’s ________(V-ing) in a chant.
3. Attitude/ Qualities:
- Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. 
Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love classroom, love learning 
English 
B. METHODS: 
- Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer.
- Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by 
visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction.
C. TEACHING AIDS:
- Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector.
- Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things.

 2. New lesson
 Activity 1. Listen and chant:
 *Aims: to correctly pronounce the words 
 question, square, quiz and say the sentence 
 pattern: He’s/ She’s ________(V-ing) in a 
 chant.
 *Procedure: -Look at the picture and listen.
 - Have pupils look at the chant and ask them to 
 pay attention to the letter Q/q and the word 
 question.
 - Play the recording of the first line for pupils 
 to listen and to get familiarized with the tune.
 - Play the recording again, ask pupils to listen 
 and repeat the first line. Then play the 
 recording for them to listen and repeat until 
 they feel confident. -Ss listen and chant the first line
 - Follow the same procedure with the other 
 lines. Show pupils how to chant and clap their -Ss listen, chant the first line
 hands. 
 - Play the recording all the way through. Ask 
 pupils to listen and repeat the chant -Ss listen, chant the other lines 
 individually and in chorus. and clap their hands
 - Select some pupils to the front of the class to 
 -Ss listen and chant all the chant
 chant and clap their hands. 
 - If they sing the chant well, praise them, -Ss chant in front of the class
 saying Well done! or Very good.

 Activity 2 Listen and tick:

 *Procedure:
 -Have Ss look at two pictures and say what -Look at the picture and

 -Encourage some ss to point to the pictures 
 and say the words in front of the class. E.g. 
 1a: square, 1b: circle
 - Play the recording for ss to listen and tick the -Point and say
 box.
 - Let ss to listen again and check. -SS listen and do the task.
 -T gets feedback.
 -Ss look and listen.

 Activity 3. Look and write:
 *Aims: to write the letter Q/q and complete 
 the words: question, square, quiz
 *Procedure:
 - Have Ss look at the letter Q (upper case) and -Ss listen.
 q (lower case). Ask ss to make sure if they 
 recognize the two forms of the letter.
 - Tell ss to trace the letter Q/q.T can 
 demonstrate by air tracing or tracing the 
 broken lines of the letter Q/q on the board.
 -Then let ss write the letter. Then find out the -SS do the task.
