Week 8 Date of teaching:4A, 4B ( 01/11/2021), 4C ( 02/11/2021) Period: 13 Unit 7: What do you like doing? Lesson 1: 1 + 3 A. OBJECTIVES: 1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to - Ask and answer question about what someone like doing. - Listen and tick the correct pictures. - Sentence Patterns: What do you like doing? − I like _____. - Vocabulary: swimming, cooking, collecting stamps, playing chess 2. Skills: - Develop Ss listening & speaking skills. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Ss will be active. 4. Forming competence. - To know talking about activities they likes. - Work in pairs B. TEACHING AIDS: 1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, projector/TV, laptop, flashcards, real objects 2. Student’s aids: school things C. PROCEDURES: *. Warm up: Tell names of some activities - Show pictures of some activities and ask sts to tell their names sing, dance,read, cook, skate, play, I. Presentation 1. Vocabulary: - Swimming: bơi - Cooking: nấu ăn -Collecting stamps: sưu tầm tem -Playing chess: chơi cờ - T reads, SS listen -T reads, ss repeat -Call some ss read - Check 2. Dialogue: *. Set the scene: • Whole class: Have pupils turn their books to Page 46 - Ask pupils about the characters in the pictures - Explain the meaning of the language practised. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. - Repeat the steps a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play. - Ask Ss to role play before the class. 3. Form Elicit the model sentences: What do you like doing? I like reading. II. Practice 1. Point and say - Play the CD for sts listen through the activities given - Sts listen, point and repeat - Explain the pattern: - What do you like doing? + I like V(ing). - Model - Ask pupils to point and say about the activities by asking and answering Qs about them. - Have pupils point and say a few times - Ask sts to practice in pairs to say about the addresses base on the model - Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible. 2. Listen and tick. - Have pupils look the pictures with the activities in each number - Get sts say aloud - Tell the pupils that they are going to listen 3 dialoges and tick the correct activities - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and choose the correct answers. - Compare the answers with the partner. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. - T gives the answer: - Have pupils act out the dialogues in pairs or groups for correction. - Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text. * Answer: 1- b ; 2 - c ; 3- a III. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to - Ask and answer question about someone's hobbies. - Listen and number the pictures in the correct order. - Sentence Patterns: What’s your hobby? − I like _____. - Vocabulary: riding a bike, playing badminton, playing a kite, taking photos, watching TV 2. Skills: - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - United friend 4. Forming competence: - To know talk about their class - Practise in pairs B. TEACHING AIDS: 1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, projector/TV, laptop, flashcards, real objects 2. Student’s aids: school things C. PROCEDURES: *. Warm up: Sing the “I like doing things ” songs I. Presentation 1. Set the scene: * Set the scene: The situation at Music club - Ask pupils the names of the characters and where they are. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. - Repeat the step a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play. - Ask Ss to role play before the class. - Explain the meaning of the language practised. 3. Point and say - Ask Sts to look at the pictures given. - Play CD for sts listen and repeat all the activities given - Read the words and have pupils read in chorus, individuals. - Explain the pattern: - What’s your hobby? I like riding a bike. - Ask pupils about what they get information to say. - Tell them that they are going to practise asking and answering about their hobbies - Have pupils act out the characters to ask and answer about the hobbies - Call on all pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give respond. 2. Let’s talk: - Ask them to read the questions given: What do you like doing? What’s your hobby? - Ask pupils to answer the questions. - Have pupils ask and answer in pairs. - Monitor the activity, check the pronunciation (stress, assimilation of sounds and intonation), and offer help when necessary. - Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible. - Make a few questions to check pupils' comprehension of the language. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus * Suggested answer: 1. I like listening to music. 3. Listen and number: - Have pupils look at the pictures a, b, c and d on page 49 of the Student Book. - Get sts the information in 4 pictures - Give feedback - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and match the information they hear to the pictures by numbering the boxes. - Play the recording twice for pupils to listen and number the boxes. - Check their guess. Compare the answer with the partner. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. - T gives the answer: - Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text. * Answer: 1.c 2.a 3. d 4.b 2.
