A.OBJECTIVES: 
 1. Knowledge:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to
- Ask and answer questions about what someone is doing.
- Listen and tick the correct pictures.
- Sentence Patterns: What’s he / she doing? − He’s / She’s___.
- Vocabulary: watching a video, listening to music, writing a dictation, reading a 
text
1. Skills:
- Listening and speaking.
3. Attitudes/ Quality: 
- Love their class
- United friend
4. Forming competence:
- To know talk about their class
- Practise in pairs
B. TEACHING AIDS:
1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, projector/TV, laptop, flashcards, real objects

C. PROCEDURES: 
*. Warm up: Change V – V-ing

I. Presentation
1. Vocabulary:
- Reading a text: đọc văn bản -Writing a dictation : viết chính tả

2. Dialogue:
*. Set the scene:
• Whole class: Have pupils turn their books to Page 58
- Ask pupils about the characters in the pictures 
- Explain the meaning of the language practised. 
- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the 
appropriate line in their books. 
- Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles.
- Repeat the steps a few times. 
- Some Ss role play and the others comment.
- Ask Ss to role play.
- Ask Ss to role play before the class.
3. Form:
- Elicit the model sentences: What’s he doing?
 He’s reading
II. Practice
1. Point and say
- Play the CD for sts listen through the activities given
- Sts listen, point and repeat
- Explain the pattern:
 What’s he/she doing?
 He’s/ She’s ___________.
- Model
- Ask pupils to point and say about the activities by asking and answering Qs about 
them.
- Have pupils point and say a few times 
- Ask sts to practice in pairs to say about the activities base on the model
- Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. The rest of the 
class observe and give comments if possible. 
2. Listen and tick: 
- Have pupils look the pictures with the activities in each number
- Get sts say aloud
- Tell the pupils that they are going to listen 3 dialoges and tick the correct pictures 
withs activities they are doing.
- Play the recording twice for pupils listen and choose the correct answers. - Compare the answers with the partners.
- Play the recording again pupils check their answers. 
- T gets the answer:
- Have pupils act out the dialogues in pairs or groups for correction.
- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text.
 * Answer: 1- b ; 2 - c ; 3- a
III. Production: Chain game

I. Presentation
1. Vocabulary:
- Making a paper boat : làm thuyền giấy
- Making a puppet: làm con rối
- Making paper plane: làm máy bay giấy
- Painting mask: vẽ mặt nạ
- T reads, SS listen 
-T reads, ss repeat
-Call some ss read
- Check
2. Dialogue:
*. Set the scene:
- Ask pupils the names of the characters and where they are: Tom and Linda
- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the 
appropriate line in their books. 
- Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles.
- Repeat the step a few times. 
- Some Ss role play and the others comment.
- Ask Ss to role play.
- Ask Ss to role play before the class.
- Explain the meaning of the language practised. 
3. Form

 They are painting masks.
II. Practice
1. Point and say
- Ask Sts to look at the pictures with the activities given
- Play CD for sts listen and repeat all the activities given
- Read the words and have pupils read in chorus, individuals.
- Explain the pattern:
 - What are they doing?
 They are painting masks.
- Ask pupils about what they get information to say.
- Tell them that they are going to ask and answer what they are doing.
- Have pupils ask and answer in pairs 
- Call on all pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. The rest of the class 
observe and give respond. 2. Let’s talk:
- Show sts a pictures with activities in the Art room
- Ask them to read the questions given: 
 Where is he/ she? 
 What’s he/ she doing?
 Where are they?
 What are they doing?
- Ask pupils to answer the questions.
- Have pupils ask and answer in pairs.
- Monitor the activity, check the pronunciation (stress, assimilation of sounds and 
intonation), and offer help when necessary. 
- Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. The rest of the 
class observe and give comments if possible. 
- Make a few questions to check pupils' comprehension of the language. 
- Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus
 *Suggested answer: 
 They’re in the Art room now.
 - At the blue table, they’re making a paper boat ..
3. Listen and number:
- Have pupils look at the pictures a, b, c and d on page 61 of the Student Book.
- Get sts the information in 4 pictures
- Give feedback
- Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and
 match the information they hear to the pictures by numbering the boxes.
- Play the recording twice for pupils to listen and number the boxes. 
- Check their guess. Compare the answer with the partner.
- Play the recording again pupils check their answers. 
- T gives the answer:
- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text.
 * Answer: 1. d 2. a 3. c 4. b
III. Production: Play the game Ring Golden Bell
- Show on overhead the questions, sts choose the correct answer -> write on sts’ 
boards
(7 multiple choice questions which focus on form of model sentences,
 meaning of vocabulary)
