 2. identify the situations for giving the color of objects by using the sentence pattern: 
 It's a (pink) flower.
 3. Show their responsibility and respect for each other while taking part in activities
 and positive attitudes, appropriate gestures and intonation when naming the basic
 colors and saying the color of objects.

 STAGE 3: LEARNING EXPERIENCES/ LEARNING PLAN Warm-up : Whisper
- Arrange children into rows of at least six.
- Secretly show a flashcard to the first child in each group. This child whispers the word to 
the child next to him/her.
- Children continue whispering the word to the child next to them until the word reaches 
the final child.
- The final child says the word out loud, and the first child holds up the flashcard to see 
whether the word is correct.
Activity 1: Language input (Activity A- Listen and point. Repeat.)
- Ask students to look at 3 pictures (page 20) and answer questions to identify the 
situation.
- Tell students that they are going to practise saying about the basic colors. 
- Play the recording more than once, if necessary, ask students to listen, point and 
repeat.
- Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking.
- Play the recording again for students to listen and repeat.
- Have students work in pairs, one points at the picture in the book and the other says 
the word.
- Say the word and make the gesture.
- Do the actions and students say the word accordingly.
- Have students work in pairs, one would do the action, the other say the word.

- Introduce the situation.
- Play audio and have students look at the picture.
- Demonstrate the activity by pointing at the words. 
- Play the audio again. Have students listen and repeat.

- Point at each word and have students call it out.

STAGE 3: LEARNING EXPERIENCES/ LEARNING PLAN Warmer: Greeting and play game.
Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by getting pupils to do a dictation.
You can choose some sentences learnt in the previous lessons (e.g. Our school is Nguyen 
Hue Primary
School. It is in Nguyen Hue Street in Ha Noi. We are in Class 4C.) 
Activity 1: Language input (Activity 1: Listen and repeat.)
Tell pupils that they are going to practise saying the sounds of the letters sch, sk and 
str in the
words school, skipping and street respectively.
• First, put the letters sch, sk and str on the board. Play the recording and ask pupils to 
repeat
a few times. Then write the words school, skipping and street, and the three sentences 
from
the Pupil’s Book on the board. Play the recording more than once, if necessary, and 
let pupils
say the words and the sentences, paying attention to the target sounds.
• Do choral and individual repetition of the sounds, words and sentences until pupils 
feel
confident.
• Get some pupils to perform in front of the class. Check as a class and correct the 
pronunciation,
if necessary. 
Activity 2: Controlled & guided practice
Task 1: Controlled practice (Activity 2: Listen and circle. Then write and say 
aloud.)
Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording, circle the correct options and 
then
write the words in the blanks.
• Give them a few seconds to read the sentences in silence and guess the words to fill 
the
gaps.
• Have pupils listen to the recording and circle the appropriate options. Allow them 
time to do
the task independently. If necessary, have pupils listen to the recording more than 
once.
• Give them time to write the words in the gaps independently. Have them swap their 
answers
before checking as a class. Go around and offer help, if necessary.
• Ask pupils to read the sentences aloud.

Task 2: Guided practice (Activity 3: Let’s chant)
Tell pupils that they are going to say the chant. Follow the procedure in Teaching the 
unit
components in Introduction.
• Have them read the chant and check comprehension. • Play the recording more than once, if necessary, for pupils to do choral and individual
repetition. Show them how to chant and do actions.
• Put the class into two groups to practise chanting and doing actions. Each of the groups
should sing one verse of the chant. Go around and offer help, if necessary.
• Call two pairs to the front of the class to chant and do actions. The rest of the class 
claps along
to the rhythm. 
Activity 3: Wrap-up & Assignments
- Ask students to answer the following questions: 
 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? 
(pronounce the sounds of the letters sch, sk and str in the words school, skipping and
street respectively..)
2. What’re the core values of the lesson? 
(Use positive attitudes and appropriate gestures to practise asking and answering 
questions about the classes the pupils are in..)
- Remind students to do exercises in the workbook. 
- Prepare for the next lesson (Unit 4. Lesson3. 4-6 on pages 45).
