 1.Warm- up: Chatting
 *Aims: to help ss review some unit that they learnt.
 *Procedure:
 -Have pupils look at the story Phil and Sue, listen - Ss listen 
 and repeat the sentences in the bubbles. Say Look at 
 the story, listen and repeat, please!
 - Ask them to open their books and look at Self- -Ss open the book
 check, saying Open your books and look at Self-
 check, please
 2. New lesson
 Activity 1. Listen and tick. 
 *Aims: Ss will be able to listen, recognize the words 
 and tick the correct boxes.
 *Procedure: -Look at the picture and 
 - Have pupils look at Picture 1, saying Look at listen.
 Picture 1, please! What can you see? Can you see a 
 goat and a gate? Ask them to say what they can see. 
 E.g. 1a: I can see a goat. Draw pupils’ attention to 
 the boxes next to the letters a and b. Check 
 comprehension.
 - Invite some pupils to point to the pictures and say 
 the words in front of the class (saying Point to the 
 pictures and say, please!). E.g. 1a. a goat, 1b. a -Ss listen.

- Ask pupils to look at the phrase in each question. -Listen and answer
Check their comprehension.
- Get pupils to read the phrases and tick the -Ss read and tick
correct boxes, saying Now read and tick the 
correct pictures, please! Give further support to 
those pupils who find it difficult to do the task. -Ss work in pair and check 
- Ask pupils to work in pairs and swap their work, each other’s answer
saying Now work in pairs and check each other’s 
answers. Give pupils time to work. Go around and
