 UNIT 10: WHEN WILL SPORTS DAY BE?
 Lesson 1( 1, 2, 3)
I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to 
- Ask and answer questions about shool event.
- Develop reading and speaking skill.
* Language contents: 
Vocabulary: look for, sport day, gym, take part in, independence day, children’s day, 
swim, table tennis, contest, festival.
Sentence patterns: When will be? – It’ll be on 
 Skills: listening, reading and writing.
II. Teaching methods:
- Communicative approach.
- Techniques:
+ Ask and answer (say individually)
+ Work in pairs/ groups.
III. Teaching aids:
1. Teacher: pupil’s and teacher’s book, picture, CD, cassette and falshcards.
2. Pupils: book, notebook, workbook.
IV. Procedures:

 B.Warm up Chant 
 - Spend a few minutes revising the 
 previous lesson by asking the class to

 C. New lesson read and listen

 - Tell the classthat they are going to 
 read and listen to a story. Have

their books. Play it again for them to do 
choral repetition, pointing to the 
characters speaking.

 answers It’ll be on ... Monitor the 
 activity and offer help, if necessary. 
 - Invite one or two pairs to act out the 
 exchanges in front of the class, then 
 give feedback. Correct their 
 pronunciation, if necessary.
 D. Consolidation
 - Summary the lesson.
