Week 7 Date of teaching:3A, 3B ( 25/10/2021), 3C ( 26/10/2021) Period: 11 Unit 6: Stand up! Lesson 1: 1 - 3 A. OBJECTIVES: 1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to - Pupils can give and respond to classroom instructions. - Listen and tick the correct pictures. - Sentence Patterns: Stand up! - Vocabulary: come here, don’t talk, open your book, close your book, sorry 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Ss confident in communicate with their friends. - Ss love English, friends and teacher. - Ss should ask for T’s permission in class. 4. Forming competence: - Ss using language to ask and answer questions about friends. - Active participate in groups, ready to help their friends. B. TEACHING AIDS: 1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, projector/TV, laptop, flashcards, real objects 2. Student’s aids: school things C. PROCEDURES: *. Warm up: *Game: Hang man - Expalin how to play - Give a word with eleven letters ( Good morning) - Let sts play the game. - Raise the winner. - Lead in the new lesson. I. Presentation 1. Vocabulary: -Stand up: đứng lên -Sit down: ngồi xuống -Don’t talk: im lặng -Come here: lại đây -Be quiet: im lặng -Open your book: mở sách -Close your book: gấp sách -Sorry: xin lỗi - T reads, SS listen -T reads, ss repeat -Call some ss read - Check 2. Dialogue: *. Set the scene: - Ask sts to identify the characters in the pictures on page 40 and what they are saying. - Set the scene “you are going to listen to Mr Loc and Class greet” . - Play the recording for sts to listen to the tape. - Ask sts to listen again and repeat in chorus two times - Elicit the partern sentences: + Stand up: (mime) + Sit down: ( mime) + Be quiet = Don’t talk (Mime) + Come here: (mime) + Open your book (Mime) + Close your book (mime) - Ask ss to read in chorus, group and individually. - Check vocab: Matching - Call on ss to practice dialogue again. - Get sts to do further practice in pairs. - Call on some pairs to report. - Give feedback. 3. Let’s talk - Ask sts to look at the pictures in the book. Ask them to identify the characters in the pictures. - Ask sts to work in pairs to introduce one’s friend and respond to the introduction. - Call some pairs to act out. - Correct their pronunciation 4. Listen and tick - Have sts to look at pictures a, b, c on page 41 of the Student Book. Give the identification of the actions in the pictures and the actions’ words. - Give instruction. - Play the recording 2 times pupils to listen and tick the boxes. - Ask sts to compare the answers with the partner. - Play the recording again for sts to check their answers. - Announce the answers. - Ask some questions to ensure sts’ comprehension of the listening text. III. Production: Point and say and do the actions - Have ststo look at pictures on Page 40. Elicit the characters in the pictures and their names. - Recall the sentence pattern in part 1 - Have ss to say aloud and do the actions - Ask ss to practice more - Monitor the activity and offer help. - Call on some pairs to perform their task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. D. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to - Pupils can ask for and give permission. - Listen and number the pictures. - Sentence Patterns: May I ___? – Yes, you can. / – No, you can’t. - Vocabulary: come in, go out, speak, write. 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Ss confident in communicate with their friends. - Ss love English, friends and teacher. 4. Forming competence: - Ss using language to ask and answer questions about friends. - Active participate in groups, ready to help their friends. B. TEACHING AIDS: 1. Set the scene: - Have sts to look at the book at page 42. - Elicit the character and have sts to guess what they are saying. - Set the scene. - Have sts listen to the recording as they read the lines in the speech bubbles - Play the recording again for sts to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles two times. - Divide the class into two groups. One repeat Hoa’s part and the other repeat Mr Loc’s part. - Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each line in the speech bubbles to reinforce their pronunciation. Do the same with the dialogue in picture b. 3. Form Elicit the sentence patter: May I come in? - Yes, you can. May I go out? - No, you can’t. II. Practice 1. Point and say - Have sts to look at the pictures on page 42. - Teach vocabulary: come in: (mime) go out (mime) speak (pic) write ( mime) - Ask ss to read in chorua, group and individually. - Elicit the structure: May I come in? - Yes, you can. May I go out? - No, you can’t. -Elicit the actions in the pictures - Ask sts to act out the dialogue1. Repeat the step with some other pairs for pictures - Have sts to practice acting out the dialogue in pairs, using the pictures. - Monitor the activity and offer help. Correct pronunciation errors (stress, assimilation of sounds, intonation) when necessary. - Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. The others observe and give comments. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. 2. Let’s talk: - Show picture and give task. - Have sts to work in pairs to ask and answer questions about friends. - Display in class, others comment - Listen and correct. 3. Listen and number: - Ask sts to describe the pictures on page 43. + Tell sts the way to listen. - Give instruction. - Play the tape all the way through for sts to listen. - Ask sts to listen again and number. - Ask sts to compare with their partners. - Call on some sts to check their answers. - Give feedback by opening the tape once and check.
