Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to - Introduce someone and respond to the introduction. - Sentence Patterns: This is ___. − Hello, ___. Nice to meet you. - Listen and tick the correct pictures. - Vocabulary: Tony, Linda, Peter, Quan, this is, nice to meet you 2. Skills: - Develop Ss listening and speaking 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Ss confident in communicate with their friends. - Ss love English, friends and teacher. 4. Forming competence: - Ss using language to introduce someone. - Active participate in groups, ready to help their friends. B. TEACHING AIDS: 1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, projector/TV, laptop, flashcards, real objects 2. Student’s aids: school things C. PROCEDURES: *. Warm up: Chant - Ask ss to read chant “ What’s your name?” - Call some ss to spell their names. - Give comment and mark - Lead in the new lesson. I. Presentation 1. Set the scene: - Ask pupils to look at the picture to point at each character and elicit their answers to the questions: Who’s this? What’s his/her name? What’s he/she doing? - Ask sts to look at the picture and listen to the dialoguAe in page 18 in their books. - Tell them that they are going to learn introducing their friends. - Ask ss to loot at pictures on page 18 and anser the questions: Who are they? Where are they? - Use a poster or two character puppets to present the situation. - Play the recording all the way through for sts to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. - Play the recording again for sts to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. - Repeat the step a few times. - Elicit the model sentence: This is Tony - Practice with sts. - Divide the class into 2 groups. Ask sts to practice in pairs. - Go round and check sts to be able to repeat and understand the dialogue. 3. Form Elicit the sentence patter: This is . II. Practice 1. Point and say - Have pupils look at pictures. - Run through. - Use flashcards to teach sentences in the speech bubbles. Have sts repeat the phrases a few times. This is....... Hello,.............Nice to meet you - Give instruction. - Point to each character in the picture and elicit the names and words to fill the gaps. - Write the whole sentences on the board. - Have sts to repeat the sentences a few times. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Ask sts work in pairs. - Call some pairs practice in front of the class. - Check sts’ mistake when necessary. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. 3. Let’s talk. - Run through. - Give instruction. - Get sts to work in groups of three to interact. - Call a few groups to practise in front of the class. - Check ss’ pronunciation. 3. Yes, it is. - Ask ss to read in chorus and individual. - Check their understanding. - Play the recording through for sts to listen to the dialogue. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for sts to repeat. - Divide the class into two groups: one group to repeat Nam’s and the Tom’s part. - Call on sts to practise in front of the class. - Give feedback. 3. Form Elicit the sentence patter: Is that Tony? Yes, it is./ No, It isn’t II. Practice 1. Point and say - Ask sts to look at the pictures on page 20 - Give instruction. - Draw sts’ attention to the pictures. - Point to each character in the picture and elicit his/her name. - Write the whole sentences on the board. - Have sts to repeat the sentences a few times. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Ask sts to work in pairs. - Call some pairs practice in front of the class. - Check sts’ mistakes when necessary. 2. Let’s talk. - Look at the picture and introduce. - Tell them that they are going practise more with their characters‘ names. - In pairs students introduce their name the same in the book. - Call sts to work in pairs. - Do as example if the sts don’t understand. - Look the pic and then work in pairs with the name of pic before class. - Give feedback. 3.
