Week 3 Date of teaching:3A, 3B ( 27/9/2021), 3C ( 1/10/2021) Period: 3 Unit 2: What’s your name? Lesson 1 : 1-2-3 A. OBJECTIVES: 1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to - Ask and answer questions about one's name. - Sentence Patterns: What’s your name? I’m ___. - Vocabulary: Peter, Phong, Linda, Quan, what, your, name -Listen and tick the right picture 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Ss confident in communicate with their friends. - Ss love English, friends and everybody 4. Forming competence: - Using language to ask and answer questions about one's name. - Active participate in groups, ready to help their friends. B. TEACHING AIDS: 1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, projector/TV, laptop, flashcards, real objects 2. Student’s aids: school things C. PROCEDURES: *. Warm up: - Review sts the names of boys and girls. - State the way to play. - Ask sts to work in pairs Play a game: Playing badminton - Lead in the new lesson. I. Presentation 1. Vocabulary: What ? cái gì, là gì Name : tên Your: của bạn My : của tôi - T reads, SS listen -T reads, ss repeat -Call some ss read - Check voca 2. Dialogue: *. Set the scene: - Ask pupils to look at the picture to point at each character and elicit their answers to the questions: Who’s this? What’s his/her name? What’s he/she doing? - Ask sts to look at the picture and listen to the dialogue in their books. - Tell them that they are going to practise introducing themselves and responding to the introduction (Vietnamese). - Point to the S1 and ask sts to look at the text in speech bubbles. Use a poster or two character puppets to present the situation. - Explain the meaning of the language practised. 3. Form Elicit the sentence pattern: What’s your name? - My name’s II. Practice 1. Point and say - Ask Sts to look at the pictures on page 12 and identify the characters - Explain the pattern + What’s your name ? My name’s - Ask sts about what they fill in the blanks - Ask sts to work in pair. - Call on some pair s to perform the task. - Comment and correct the mistake 2. Let’s talk: - Ask sts to look at the pictures on page 12 and identify the characters. - Guide sts to practice greeting and self-introducing. - Ask sts to use the names in their books or their real names to practice. - Ask sts to practice in small groups. - Call someone to perform at the front of the class. - Comment III. Production: Play a game: Hot chair - T explain how to play - Devide class four group -Call each group go to board D. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to - Ask and answer questions about how to spell one's name. - Sentence Patterns: How do you spell your name? − (N A M). - Vocabulary: the alphabet, how, do you, and spell 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Ss confident in communicate with their friends. - Ss love English, friends and teacher. 4. Forming competence: - Ss know ask and answer questions about how to spell one's name. - Practice with their friends. B. TEACHING AIDS: 1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, projector/TV, laptop, flashcards, real objects 2. Student’s aids: school things C. PROCEDURES: *. Warm up: - Get the class to sing the alphabet song again. - Lead in the new lesson. I. Presentation 1. Vocabulary: How: như thế nào Spell: đánh vần - Check 2. Dialogue - Introduce the picture on page 14 and ask some questions about the situations in the picture: + Who are they in the picture? + Where are they? - Tell sts that they are going to practise asking and answering about name and How to spell their name. - Procedure the first picture and explain what they say. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Elicit the question to spell name: How do you spell your name? L-I-N-D-A. - Ask ss to read in chorus and individual. - Check their understanding. - Play the recording through for sts to listen to the dialogue. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for sts to repeat. - Divide the class into two groups: one group to repeat Nam’s and the Linda’s part. - Call on sts to practise in front of the class. - Give feedback. 3. Form : How do you spell your name ? II. Practice 1. Point and say - Ask sts to look at the pictures on page 14 - Give instruction. - Draw sts’ attention to the pictures. - Point to each character in the picture and elicit his/her name. - Write the whole sentences on the board. - Have sts to repeat the sentences a few times. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Ask sts to work in pairs. - Call some pairs practice in front of the class. - Check sts’ mistakes when necessary. 2. Let’s talk. - Look at the picture and introduce. - Tell them that they are going practise more with their characters‘ names. - In pairs students introduce their name the same in the book. - Call sts to work in pairs. - Do as example if the sts don’t understand. - Look the pictures and then work in pairs with the name of pictures before class. - Give feedback. - Ask sts practise how to spell their names III. Production: Play a game: Rainbow -Some pupils make two lines. Two first ones from each team hold hands. Some others go through the hands when the music plays. As the music stops, the ones who are the rainbow must ask: How do you spell your name? .The one who is caught must answer: “M-A-I”. D.
