 Warm-up: Play the Repeating game.
 - Put a selection of the flashcards about the things on the board.
 - Point to a flashcard and say a word. If the word is correct, the students repeat it. If 
 not, they stay silent.

 - Ask the students to listen and pay their attention.
 - Use DCR on Eduhome to play the audio and point to each flashcard. 
 - Then play the audio again and have them point to the pictures in their Student’s

 - Have the class work in pairs. One student randomly points to the pictures in their 
 book, and the other one says the phrases. Then have them swap roles and continue 
 this activity.

 - Put one flashcard in each of the four corners of the classroom.
 - Make sure that all students can pronounce the new word in each card.
 - Choose one student to come to the front of the class.
 - Have the student close their eyes and have the rest of the class stand up and point to 
 a flashcard of their choice.
 - Have the student at the front say one of the words. All students pointing at that 
 flashcard are “out”. They must sit down.
 Continue the game until only one student is left standing.

- Ask students to look at picturé (Activity 1) (page 42) and answer the following

- Use pictures to elicit: The post office, walk for five minutes / Phu Quoc Island, take a

- Point to the first picture and model the task with one student, using the expressions in 
the bubbles and the word under the picture. 
Teacher: How can I get to the post office? Student: – You can walk for five 
minutes.
- Ask students to say the phrases chorally and individually. Repeat the same procedure 
with the rest of the pictures. 
- Ask students to practice in pairs, using the prompts in the bubbles and the pictures.

*Warmer: Greeting and asking
- Tell students that they are going to read a dialogue in which students ask and answer 
questions about directions. And lead students to the new lesson.
Activity 1: Listen and write one word in each box.
- Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and write one word in each 
box.
- Play the recording for pupils to listen
- Ask pupils to listen again and do the task
- Ask pupils to give answers
- Play the recording again for pupils to listen and check

Activity 2: Read and complete gapped conversations, using the words provided.
- Tell the class that they are going to read the text and fill the gapped sentences.

- Ask pupils to read aloud their answers.
- Ask other pupils to give feedback.

Activity 3:. Let’s play 
- Tell the class that they are going to play game: Giving directions.
- Have pupils the rule of the game: 
 + S1 in each group asks directions to a place on the map.
 + S2 gives the directions. 
 + If the directions are correct, S2 will ask S3 directions to another place.
 + If the directions are wrong, S2 is out of the game and S1 asks S3 directions.
 + The game ends when all pupils are out except one in each group. Then these pupils 
can continue the game until there is only one pupil left, and he/she will be the winner. 
 Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments
 - Ask students to answer the following questions: 
1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? 
- Ask and answer questions about means of transports, using How can I get to 
___? − You can ___. 
2. What’re the core values of the lesson?
- Show respect and be polite and know more about means of transports by using 
appropriate gestures and intonation when asking and answering questions about

- Lead into new lesson.
Activity 1: Listen and repeat:
Tell the class that they are going to practice saying question and answer with falling 
intonation.
-Ask pupils to look at the book and listen 
- Play the recording for pupils to listen again and repeat.
- Play it again to do choral repetition until they feel confident.
- Ask pupils to say the questions and answers in pairs.
- Call some pairs to practice in front of class. Other’s pupils to give comments.
- Give comments.
- Correct mistakes of pronunciation.
