 STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES/ LEARNING PLAN
 Warmer: - Greeting.
 - Play the game: Pass the secret.
 Activity 1: Listening practice (Activity 1: Listen and tick)
 - Tell pupils that they are going to listen and tick the correct pictures.
 - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen first.
 - Play the recording again for them to repeat the sentences twice
 - Play the recording more than once and let pupils tick
 Answers: 1 – c; 2 – d; 3 – b; 4 – a.
 b. Activity 2: Listen and number - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and number the 
pictures.
 - Give them a few seconds to read the sentences in silence and guess the 
answer.
 - Play the recording more than once, if necessary, for pupils to listen and 
number the pictures. 
 - Have pupils swap their answers before checking as a class. Then ask pupils 
to ask and answer.

Activity 3: Reading practice 
a. Read and complete.
- Tell pupils that they are going to - Ask students to read the dialogue in the 
book and fill the words given to complete the dialogue. Work in pairs to do the 
exercise then practice in pairs in front of the whole class. The rest listen to and 
give the remark. 
- Correct the pronunciation.

b. Read and match
- Whole class. Have pupils turn their books to page 37. Tell pupils that they are 
going to read the sentences to get the information in order to match the 
sentences to the sentences.

offer help when necessary.
- Pair works. Have pupils trade their answers for correction.
- Call on some pupils to report their answers. The rest of the class listen give 
comments.
- Make a few questions to check pupils’ comprehension of the sentences.
- Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their 
pronunciation.

- Have pupils look at pictures 1, 2, 3 and4 on Page 37. Elicit the characters in the 
pictures and their names. Ask pupils to guess and complete the speech bubbles.

pupils. Ask them to ask and answer. Using the pictures in their books. - Monitor the activity and offer help. Correct pronunciation errors (stress, 
assimilation of sounds, intonation) when necessary.
- Call on some pairs to perform their task in front of the class. The rest of the 
class observe and give comments.
- Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their 
pronunciation.

and Quan are talking about whether the other speaker has any pets.
Activity 1: Language input (Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat.)
- Ask students to look at the two pictures (page 40) and answer questions to 
identify the situation for the conversation.
 1. Who are they? (Mai, nam and Quan )
 2. Where are they? (in the garden )
 3. What are they doing?( talking about pets)
- Ask students to look at picture b (Activity 1) (page 40) and answer the following 
questions: 
 4. What does Quan ask? (Do you have any pets?)
 5. What does Mai answer? (Yes, I do)
- Elicit the sentence patterns “ Do you have any ..? ̶ Yes, I do. / No, I don’t ” - Tell students that they are going to practise asking and answering questions about 
whether other speaker has any pets.
- Play the recording more than once, if necessary, ask students to listen and repeat 
the dialogue 
- Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking.
- Play the recording again for students to listen and repeat. 
Activity 2: full controlled & less controlled
Task 1: Controlled practice (Activity 2: Point and say.)
- Use pictures to elicit: Cats, parots, goldfish,rabbits, pets
- Point to the first picture and model the task with one student, using the 
expressions in the bubbles and the word under the picture. 
 Teacher: Do you have any cats? Student: Yes, I do.
- Ask students to say the phrases chorally and individually. Repeat the same 
procedure with the rest of the pictures. 
- Ask students to practice in pairs, using the prompts in the bubbles and the 
pictures. 
- Call on some pairs to role-play the dialogue in front of the class. Monitor the 
activity and offer help, if necessary. 
Task 2: less controlled. Ask and answer questions about other speaker has any 
pets.
Show some pictures about the pets. 
- Have students choose the picture that they can tell about whether the other 
speaker has a pets. using ““ Do you have any ..? ̶ Yes, I do. / No, I don’t ”
- Ask them to interview 3 or 4 friends: one student asks the question and the 
other answers and then exchange the roles.
- Monitor the activity and offer help if necessary. 
- Call on some groups of students to role-play in front of the class. .
Activity 3: Wrap-up & Assignments
- Ask students to answer the following questions: 
 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? 
(talk about whether other speaker has any pets. and use the sentence pattern “Do

- Have pupils look at pictures a, b, c, d and e on page 36 of the Student Book. –
- Give the identification of the characters in the pictures and the characters’ 
words. - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and number the 
pictures they hear. Guess the answer
- Play the recording 2 times pupils to listen and number the boxes. Check their 
guess. Compare the answer with the partner.
- Play the recording again pupils check their answers. T give the answer:
- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text. Task 2. Read and complete
- T explains the situation and how to do the exercise
- Ask students to read the dialogue in the book and fill the words given to 
complete the dialogue. Work in pairs to do the exercise then practice in pairs in
