Activity 1: Listen and tick
- Ask pupils to look at the pictures in their book, identify the characters and name 
of in toys he picture and guess what they are saying.
- Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and tick the correct 
pictures.
- Play the recording the second time.
- Ask pupils to listen again and do the task.
- Ask pupils to give answers
- Play the recording again for pupils to listen and check
- Give correct answers.

Activity 2: Look and write
- Tell the class that they are going to look and read a passage about toys.
- Give time for pupils to do the task in pairs. Go around and offer help, if 
necessary.

Activity 3: Let’s write
- Tell them that they are going to answer the questions about toys
-Tell the class this is a personalized activity in which pupils use real fact in their 
writing.
-Give ss a few seconds to read the questions in silence.
-Call one student to the front of the class to give a demonstration as an example
-Get a few ss to read their writing to the class.
-Call a few ss to write their answers on the board.

Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 
1. What have you learnt from the lesson today?

- Ask students to look at the two pictures (page 48) and answer questions to identify 
the situation for the conversation.
 1. Who are they? (Nam and Mai)
 2. Where are they? (in the house)
 3. What are they doing?( talking about pets)
- Ask students to look at picture b (Activity 1) (page 48) and answer the following 
questions: 
 4. What does Mai ask? (How many parrots do you have?) 5. What does Nam answer? (I have five)
- Elicit the sentence patterns “How many ... do you have.? ̶ I have ”
- Tell students that they are going to practise asking and answering questions about 
quantity of pets .
- Play the recording more than once, if necessary, ask students to listen and repeat the 
dialogue 
- Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking.
- Play the recording again for students to listen and repeat. 
Activity 2: full controlled & less controlled
Task 1: Controlled practice (Activity 2: Point and say.)
- Run through the pictures.
- Point to the first picture and model the task with one student, using the 
expressions in the bubbles and the word under the picture. 
 Teacher: How many dogs do you have ? Student: I have two
- Ask students to say the phrases chorally and individually. Repeat the same 
procedure with the rest of the pictures. 
- Ask students to practice in pairs, using the prompts in the bubbles and the pictures. 
- Call on some pairs to role-play the dialogue in front of the class. Monitor the activity 
and offer help, if necessary. 
Task 2: less controlled. Ask and answer questions about quantity of pets that 
the other speaker has
- Show some pictures about the pets 
- Have students choose the picture that they can tell about where the cats are. using 
“How many do you have?” I have 
- Ask them to interview 3 or 4 friends: one student asks the question and the other 
answers and then exchange the roles.
- Monitor the activity and offer help if necessary. 
- Call on some groups of students to role-play in front of the class. .

 STAGE 3: LEARNING EXPERIENCES/ LEARNING PLAN
Warmer: - Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson. Call 3 ps to the 
front of the class to act out the story in Activity 1. Then have the class play Slap 
the board, using the names of the closing items and the prices in Activity 2.
Task 1. Listen and tick.
- Introduce the activity by saying ‘You are going to listen to three conversations 
and tick correct box under each picture.’’
- Give a few seconds for pupils to look at the pictures and read the prices Ask them 
to say the prices aloud.
- Play the recording hree times once for pupils to listen all the way through, a 
second time for them to do the task and finally for them to check the answers. Ask 
them to focus on the price of each item.
- Get pupils to swap their answers before you check as a class.
Key :( a3 ; b1 ; c2)
Task 2. Look and write.
- Tell the class that they are going to look at the clothes and write the price for each 
item.
- Go through every picture with pupils and ask them to identify the names of the 
clothing items and their prices. Then have them look at the worked example and 
write the answers for the other pictures. Remind them to mention the colour of 
each item.
- Set a time limit for them to fill the gaps.
- Call some pupils to read aloud their sentences and check the answers as a class.

Task 3. Let’s play.
- Introduce the activity and remind pupils how to play the game Pelmanism.
- Divide the class into small groups. Give each group a set of cards( You may 
prepare one set of cards and then photocopy them). Each group should distribute 
the cards on the table, face down, a pupil turns over a pair of cards.
- Ask groups to play the game in pairs, take turns to open the flashcards to find out 
the same ones. 
- Asking Ps to focus on the structure once again.
Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments
- Ask students to answer the following questions:

- Tell the class that they are going to ask and answer questions about prices
- Have them to look the pictures and the words and phrases under them. 
- Teach vocabulary: Jeans, shoes, trousers and sandals.
