 By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. identify the situation for the conversation among Linda , Quan and Peter 
(setting, participants, topics).
2. talk about whether whether someone has a toy using: Does he/ she have 
_____? 
Yes, he /she does. / No, he / she doesn’t 
3. show love others by using appropriate gestures and intonation when asking 
and answering about whether someone has a toy.

Warmer: Greeting and chatting.
- Greet the students.
- Have ss annswers questions about toys.
-Monitor the activity.
- Give comments 
- Tell students that they are going to listen to the dialogue in which Linda,Nam 
and Peter are talking about whether someone has a toy.
Activity 1: Language input (Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat.)
- Ask students to look at the two pictures (page 32) and answer questions to 
identify the situation for the conversation.
 1. Who are they? (Linda , nam and Peter)
 2. Where are they? (in the living room)
 3. What are they doing?( talking about toys)
- Ask students to look at picture b (Activity 1) (page 32) and answer the following 
questions: 
 4. What does Quan ask? (Do he have a puzzle?)
 5. What does Linda answer? (No, he doesn’t)
- Elicit the sentence patterns “ Does he/she have ..? ̶ Yes, he/she does. / 
No, he/she doesn’t ”
- Tell students that they are going to practise asking and answering questions about 
whether whether someone has a toy 
- Play the recording more than once, if necessary, ask students to listen and repeat 
the dialogue 
- Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking.
- Play the recording again for students to listen and repeat. 
Activity 2: full controlled & less controlled
Task 1: Controlled practice (Activity 2: Point and say.)
- Use pictures to elicit: Kite, plane, yo-yo,ship
- Point to the first picture and model the task with one student, using the 
expressions in the bubbles and the word under the picture. 
 Teacher: Does he have a yo-yo ? Student: Yes, he does
- Ask students to say the phrases chorally and individually. Repeat the same 
procedure with the rest of the pictures. 
- Ask students to practice in pairs, using the prompts in the bubbles and the 
pictures. - Call on some pairs to role-play the dialogue in front of the class. Monitor the 
activity and offer help, if necessary. 
Task 2: less controlled. Ask and answer questions about whether someone 
has a toy.
Show some pictures about the toys. 
- Have students choose the picture that they can tell about whether the other 
speaker has a toy. using ““ Does he/she have ? ̶ Yes, he/she does/ No, he/she 
doesn’t ”
- Ask them to interview 3 or 4 friends: one student asks the question and the 
other answers and then exchange the roles.
- Monitor the activity and offer help if necessary. 
- Call on some groups of students to role-play in front of the class. .
Activity 3: Wrap-up & Assignments
- Ask students to answer the following questions: 
 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? 
(talk about whether whether someone has a toy and use the sentence pattern 
“Does he/ she have _____? Yes, he /she does. / No, he / she doesn’t ”
2. What’re the core values of the lesson? 
- Keep the toy clean and tidy.
- Share the toys with their friends.

Warmer: - Greeting.
- Play the game: Pass the secret.
Activity 1: Phonic practice (Activity 1: Listen and repeat.)
- Tell pupils that they are going to practice producing the sound of the letter pl 
in the words plane and that of the letter sh in the word ship.
- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen first.
- Play the recording again for them to repeat the sentences twice
- Play the recording more than once and let pupils say the sentences. Do choral 
and individual repetition of the sounds, words and sentences until pupils feel 
confident.
- Ask pupils to read the sentences until pupils feel confident. 
- Get some pupils to say the words and sentences in front of the class. 
- Correct mistakes of pronunciation.
Activity 2: Phonic checking (Activity 2: Listen and write.)
- Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and write the answer to 
fill in the blanks
- Give them a few seconds to read the sentences in silence and guess the words 
to fill in the blanks. - Play the recording more than once, if necessary, for pupils to listen and tick the 
correct boxes. 
- Have pupils swap their answers before checking as a class. Then ask pupils to 
askand answer.

Activity 3: Chant practice (Activity 3:Let’s chant.)
- Tell pupils that they are going to say the chant “Do you have a doll?” Follow 
the procedure in teaching the unit components in introduction. 
- Have them read the chant and check comprehension. Play the recording more 
than once, if necessary, for pupils to do choral and individual repetition. Show 
pupils how to chant and do actions. Call one group to chant the questions and 
another to chant the answers. 
- Get pupils to sit opposite of each other and practice chanting and doing 
actions. Go around offering help, if necessary. 
- Call some groups to the front of the class to chant and do actions. The rest of 
the class claps along to the rhythm.
Activity 4: Wrap -up & Assignments
- Ask students to answer the following questions: 
 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? 
(talk about whether someone has a toy and use the sentence pattern “Does he/ she

Activity 1: Language input (Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat.)
- Tell Ss that they are going to find out about how to ask and answer questions 
about what people usually do at a festival.
- Ask them to look at the four pictures to identify the context in which the 
language is used. Ask questions such as Who are they? Where are they? And 
What are they talking about? Help them to identify that Mai is talking to Linda 
about what she is going to do at Tet. Check comprehension.
- Play the recording more than once, if necessary, for pupils to listen and repeat. 
- Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking.
Activity 2: Controlled & guided practice
Task 1: Controlled practice (Activity 2: Point and say.)
- Tell pupils that they are going to practice asking and answering questions 
about what people do at Tet.
- Have them look at the bubbles and the pictures to understand how the language 
is used. Ask them to look at the pictures to identify the festivals, activity for 
each festival. Use the cards and elicit the phrases: make banh chung, decorate 
the house, what fire work displays and visit grandparents.
- Point to the first picture and model the task with one pupil, using the question 
and the answer in the bubbles and the phrase under picture a. Teacher: What do 
you do at Tet? Ss: I make banh chung. Ask Ss to say question and the answer 
chorally and individually. Repeat the same procedure with the rest of the 
pictures.
- Ask pupils to practice in pairs, using the prompts in the bubbles and the 
phrases under the pictures. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary.
- Select some pairs to demonstrate the task in front of the class. 
- Ss further practice asking and answering questions about the festivals and what 
they do for each festival using the questions and answers given.
- Some phrases for Ss to use: go shopping, buy food and drink, play sports and 
games, visit teachers and friends.
Task 2: Guided practice (Activity 3. Let’s talk)
- T asks ss to ask and answer questions: + When is ?
+ What do you do at/on ?
- T makes model with a student.
- Aks ss to ask and answer about when a festival is and what people do at a 
festival.
- T goes around and help ss if necessary.
- Call on some pairs to ask and answer in front of the class.
- T corrects and gives feedback.
Activity 3: Writing practice (Activity 5: Look and write.)
- Introduce the activity to the class. They are going to complete the sentences 
about what the characters do at Tet, using the pictures cues.
- Have them look at the incomplete sentences and identify the missing 
information. Than have them look at the four pictures to identify where the 
character are and what they do at Tet. Have them find appropriate phrases to 
complete the sentences.
- Ask Ss to do the task.
- Have Ss trade the answers in pairs for correction
- Call on some Ss to report their answers. Others listen and comment.
- Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their 
pronunciation

- Put the letters th on the board. Play the recording and ask pupils to repeat a few 
times. 
- Put the words: clothes, close, flower, floor and the four sentences on the 
board.
- Play the recording and ask pupils to repeat a few times. 
- Do choral and individual repetition of the sounds words and sentences until 
pupils feel confident
- Get some Ps to say the letters, the words and the sentences in front of the class. 
Check as a class and correct the pronunciation, if necessary
Task 2. Listen and write. Then say aloud.
- Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the four sentences and write the 
correct words.
- Ask them to look at the sentences and guess the words to fill the gaps
- Play the recording so they can listen and tick the words. Remind Ps to focus on

- Divide the class into group of four and call two group of Ps to give the 
demonstration. Ask the groups to sit opposite of each other. Go around and 
offer help if necessary.
- Call two groups to the front of the class chant and do the action. The rest of the 
class claps along the rhythm
Task 4. Revision.
- Play the recording again. 
- Underline the words contain sounds fl and cl.
- Asking Ps to focus on the structure once again.
