 Lesson 3 (1-3)
 STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES
A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. Pronounce the sounds of the letters bl and sk in the words blind and skating 
respectively.
2. Listen and fill the gapped sentences with the words blind and skating.
3. Perform the chant What do you do at break time?
4. Love sports and Solidarity with friends

Warmer: - Get ss to sing the Hide-and-seek song. - Monitor the activity.
Activity 1: Listen and repeat. 
- Have Ss open their books page 68.
- Tell Ss that they are going to review phrases of saying blind and skating.
- Produce the sound of the letter bl in the words blind and that of the letter sk in the word 
skating.
- Play the tape.
- Play the tape again.
Activity 2: Listen and write
- Have Ss open their books to page 68.
- Get Ss to talk about the way to do the task.
- Tell Ss that they are going to listen and write the missing words in dialogues 1 and 2.
- Listen and check answer.
- Ask Ss trade their answers within pairs or groups for correction.
- Ask 3-4 Ss to read their answers aloud to the class
- Listen and give comments.
- Have the whole class repeat each line of the dialogues.
Activity 3: Let’s chant
What do you do at break time?
- Ask Ss to look at the chant in their books.
- Play the tape and ask Ss to listen.
- Play the tape again.
- Ask Ss to practice singing in groups.
- Call on one group to perform the chant at the front of the class.
* Wrap up 
- Summary the lesson
 Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. - Do exercises in workbook, learn by heart the new 
 words and the pattern

answers on the right by drawing a line between them.
- Guide ss to do the task.

- Have Ss trade their answer in pair for correction.
- Call on some Ss to report their answers.
- Listen and give comments.
- Give correct answers: 
- Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus. 
Activity 3: Write about you.
- Tell ss that they are going to write about themselves.
- Elicit the name of activity.
- Call 3-4 ss and elicit the words to fill the gaps.
- Give ss time to do the task.
- Go around offering help, if necessary.
- Check answers.

- Guide ss to play the game: Bingo

Warmer: - Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by playing the game

Activity 1. Let’s chant
- Tell pupils that they are going to say the chant. What did he do yesterday?
- Have pupils read the chant and check comprehension.
- Play the recording a few times for pupils to do choral and individual repetition. Show 
them how to chant and do actions.
- Put the class into two groups to practice chanting and doing actions. Each of the groups 
should sing one verse of the chant. Go around offering help, if necessary.
- Call two pairs to the front of the class to chant and do actions. The rest of the class 
claps along to the rhythm.
Activity 2. Read and complete - Tell Ss that they are going to read the text and complete the sentences
- Get them to read the text and incomplete sentences and elicit what words they need to 
fill the gaps
- Give Ss time to do the task independently 
- Get them to swap the answers
Task 3. Write about you
- Tell Ss that they are going to write a short paragraph about themselves
- Have Ss work in pairs or groups to discuss what they did yesterday
- Give S time to do the task independently
- Get them to swap the answers
Activity 4. Project
- Tell S that they are going to do an interview with one of their classmates about where 
he/she was and what he/she did last weekend and report to the class
- Ask them work in pairs
- Get some S to report to the class
- Retell the content of the lesson.
- Do exercises in the workbook. Learn by heart the new words and structures again
