Week 6 Date of teaching: 1A, 1B ( /18/2021), 1C ( 19/10/2021) Period: 5 UNIT 2: SCHOOL Lesson 2: 1,2,3,4+ Lesson 2: 1,2,3,4 + Review 1,2 A. OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge By the end of this lesson, students will be able to - Recognize the /k/ /d/ sounds in words ( cap,door) 2. Skills: - Develope Ss’ Listening and speaking skills 3. Competences - Problems solving and creation - Communication and cooperation - Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work - Linguistic competence 4. Quality - Humane - Hardworking - Responsible - Honest B. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, projector/TV, laptop, real objects 2. Students’ aids: Students’ books, workbooks, rulers, eraser, ruler, crayon, pencil case. C. PROCEDURES * Warm up: Who is faster? Give the rule : There is a circle with the letters on the floor (A,B,C,D) Two students stand in the middle. The teacher says a letter, the students run to the card and say the sound. The student say right is the winner. * New lesson - Introduce the new lesson and write on the board. I . Presentation 1. The letter C, the /k/ sound and The letter D, the /d/ sound - Tell the class that they are going to learn two new letters/ sounds - Show the cards C,D T ask : How do you say this letter in Vietnamese? How about in English? Let’s listen - Play audio- Students listen ( 3 times) - Play again- students listen and repeat - Show the flashcard- T: the letter ?- Students: C the sound?- students: /k/ the letter ?- Student : D the sound?- Student:/d/ - Invite some students to say aloud - Gives feedback - Asks ss to work in pairs to practise saying - Teacher goes around to gives help if necessary Gives comments *Trace Teachers: where are your figers ? Show me Guides ss to trace the letter with their fingers in the air 2. The /k/ and the /d/ in words - Ask students to look at pictures - Play audio- students listen - Play again- Students listen and repeat - Invite some students to say the words aloud - Give comments - Gives more the words with the /k/ sound: cap, cook * Play the game: Find out the right word. II. Practise - Tell the class that they are going to sing - Play audio and have students listen. - Have students look at the lyrics. - Read the lyrics and do actions following them. - Play audio and have students listen, sing along, and do the actions. - Have sts sing in groups and comment each other - Give comments III. Production - Tell the class that they are going to practise listening the /k/ and /d/ sounds - Ask ss to listen and clap - Have students stand up. - Have students clap when they hear the letter sound. OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge By the end of this period, pupils will be able to: - Recognize the sound of letters – “Pp” and “Qq” - Vocabulary: pen, penguin,queen, question 2. Skills: - Develope Ss’ Listening and speaking skills 3. Competences - Building up interests and good habits in learning English - Building up awareness of taking care of others in their family or community - Problems solving and creation - Communication and cooperation - Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work - Linguistic competence 4. PROCEDURES Warm-up Sing the alphabet song. - Play the alphabet song and have students listen ( - Play audio again and have students sing the song. - Put the flashcards on the board for the letters in red (A to Q). - Point to each flashcard, call out the letter's name, and have students repeat. - Introduce letters P,Q for new lesson. I . Presentation 1. The letter P, the /p/ sound and The letter Q, the /q/ sound - Tell the class that they are going to learn two new letters/ sounds - Show the cards P,Q T ask : How do you say this letter in Vietnamese? How about in English? Lesson 1 A. OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: - Use the words and phrases related to the topic Future activities, ask and answer questions about where someone will be - Sentence Patterns: Where will you be this weekend? – I think I’ll be ______. - Vocabulary: in the countryside, on the beach, at school, by the sea 2. Skills: - Develope Ss’ speaking and listening skill. 3. Competences - Problems solving and creation - Communication and cooperation - Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work - Using language to talk about activities at the weekend. 4. Quality - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - To help Ss loving some activities at the weekend. B. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, projector/TV, laptop, pictures 2. Students’ aids: School things C. PROCEDURES Warm-up : - Get pupils to sing the song: If you are happy and you know ? Where were you yesterday? ? What did you do? - Lead into new lesson I. Presentation 1. Vocabulary - in the countryside ( picture) - on the beach ( picture) - at school ( picture) - by the sea ( picture) - will, think ( translation) Check vocabulary 2. Dialogue - Set the scene: - Elicit the context of the picture - Ask pupils to look at the picture to point at each character and elicit their answers to the questions: Who’s this? Where are they? What are they doing? - Play the recording for pupils to listen to the tape - Play the recording again and ask them to repeat a few times. - Play the recording again for them to repeat line by line. - Ask pupils to practice in pairs to act out the dialogue. - Go round and check pupils can repeat and understand the dialogue. - Check some pairs. Ask other pupils to give comments. - Give comments. 3. Point and say -Tell the class that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about where someone will be, using: Where will you be ...? I think I’ll be ... - Call on an open pupil to the front of the class to give a model practice. - Have pupils practice asking and answering in pairs. - Call some pairs to practice in front of the class - Give feedback and correct mistakes of pronunciation 2. Let’s talk - Tell the class that they are going to practice further by asking and answering questions about where they will be this weekend. - Get pupils time to work in pairs to ask and answer, using the structure. - Invite a few pairs to act out their conversations in front of the class. - Give feedback 3. Listen and tick - Tell the class that they are going to listen to the recording and tick the correct pictures. - Ask them to look at the pictures to identify where the characters are. - Play the recording the second time for pupils to listen and tick. - Get them to compare their answers. - Ask pupils to give answers - Play the recording again for pupils to listen and check - Give correct answers. Skills: - Develope Ss’ speaking and listening skill. 3.
