Knowledge By the end of this lesson, students will be able to - Introduce family members,using : This is my (sister) - Recognize the /b/ sound in word: boy - Vocabulary: brother, sister, boy 2. Skills: - Develope Ss’ Listening and speaking skills 3. Competences - Problems solving and creation - Communication and cooperation - Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work - Linguistic competence 4. Quality - Humane - Hardworking - Responsible - Honest B. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, projector/TV, laptop, flashcards, real objects 2. Students’ aids: Students’ books, workbooks, rulers, eraser, ruler, crayon, pencil case. C. PROCEDURES Warm-up : Sing a song “ finger family”. I. Presentation 1. Teach vocabulary - Use flashcards to introduce the new words: (sister, brother.) - Have students listen to each new word. - Show the pictures of the part A on the projector and ask students to open the books. - Play audio, and point to each flashcard for students to listen - Play audio again and have students point to the pictures in their books. - Play audio again and have students listen and repeat. - Have students work in pairs, one of them points to the picture in the book and the other says the word. - Call some pairs to the board and check. - Introduce the sentence pattern: This is my (sister) - Have Sts listen and repeat sometimes - Have Sts use flashcards to introduce about family members in groups of four - Give comments 2. The letter B, the / b / sound - Tell the class that they are going to learn a new letter/ sound - Show the card B T ask : How do you say this letter in Vietnamese? How about in English? Let’s listen - Play audio- Students listen ( 3 times) - Play again- students listen and repeat - Show the flashcard- T: the letter ?- Students: B the sound?- students: / b / - Invite some students to say aloud - Gives feedback - Asks ss to work in pairs to practise saying - Teacher goes around to gives help if necessary Gives comments *Trace Teachers: where are your fingers ? Practice 1. Listen and point. - Introduce the situation, point at each person in the picture and have students call out the words “father, mother”. - Play audio and have students look at the picture. - Demonstrate the activity by pointing at "father", "mother" in the picture. - Play the audio again. Have students listen and repeat. - Play audio again. Have students listen and point. - Point at each picture and have students call out the words again “father/ mother/ Kim.” III. Production 1. Play game: Make a line - Have students look at the example. - Give four flashcards for four students. Ask them to go to the board and make a line “ This is my sister”and read aloud the words.Others check - Continue this activity as the same way. 2. Listen and clap - Demonstrate the activity. - Have students stand up. - Have students clap when they hear the ' b' sound. - Have some students demonstrate the activity in front of the class. D. Knowledge By the end of this period, pupils will be able to: - Learn new words about feelings - Talk about how other people feel. - Recognize the /o/ sound in words: octopus,orange - Vocabulary: scared, bored, hungry,thirsty, octopus, orange - Grammar point: Long’s bored 2. Skills: - Develope Ss’ Listening and speaking skills 3. Competences - Building up interests and good habits in learning English - Building up awareness of taking care of others in their family or community - Problems solving and creation - Communication and cooperation - Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work - Linguistic competence 4. PROCEDURES Warm-up - Play "What is missing?" game + Divide the class into teams. + Place some flashcards on the board (nut, nose and some flashcards of previous letters). + Have students from the teams close their eyes. + Remove one of the pictures. + Students have to remember and say the missing pictures. + Give the first team to guess correctly one point. + The team that gets the most points wins. I. Presentation 1. Teach vocabulary - Use some flashcards to introduce the feelings (scared, bored, hungry,thirsty,) - Have students listen to each new word. - Have students listen to each new word and repeat all together and individually. Correct student’s pronunciation if necessary. - Arrange the flashcards on the board, play audio, and point to each flashcard. - Play audio again and have students point to the numbers in their books. - Play audio again and have students listen and repeat. - Play audio again and have students listen and repeat several times. - Change the order of the flashcards, point to them individually and have students say the words, correct pronunciation when needed. - Have students work in pairs, one of them points to the picture in the book and the other says the word. 2. Introduce sentence pattern - Have students look at the picture, identify it and call out the new words they can see. - - Ask some questions about the picture: What can you see in the picture? Practice Play the "Pretend" game. - Have students look at the example. - Have one student come to the front of the class. - Have that student show an emotion silently. - Have the other students try to guess the emotion. - Have students swap roles and repeat. III. Production "Pass the card" game - Divide the class into teams. - Have students from each team stand in a line. - Give the first student of each team a card (scared, bored, hungry, thirsty) and say "Go." - The students say the corresponding words and pass the cards over their heads to the ones behind them. - Have teams continue the game until their card reaches the last person. - The last student in each line races to hand their card to the teacher and says the word. - Give the first team to name their card correctly one point. - The team that gets the most points wins. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: - Ask and answer questions about where the other speaker went on holiday. - Sentence Patterns: Where did you go on holiday? – I went to _____. - Vocabulary: Ha Long Bay, Phu Quoc Island, Hoi An Ancient Town, Hue Imperial City 2. Skills: - Develope Ss’ speaking and listening skill. 3. Competences - Problems solving and creation - Communication and cooperation - Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work - Use language to talk about frequency. 4. Dialogue - Set the scene: - Elicit the context of the picture - Ask pupils to look at the picture to point at each character and elicit their answers to the questions: Who’s this? Where are they? What are they doing? - Play the recording for pupils to listen to the tape - Play the recording again and ask them to repeat a few times. - Ask pupils to practice in pairs to act out the dialogue. - Go round and check pupils can repeat and understand the dialogue. - Check some pairs. Ask other pupils to give comments. 3. Form -Elicit the sentence pattern: “Where did you go on holiday? - I went to Ha Long Bay” Form: “Where did you go on holiday? - I went to ” II. Practice 1. Point and say - Tell the class that they are going to practice asking and answering questions questions about where someone went on his/her last holiday, using: Where did you go on holiday? I went to ... - Have pupils practice asking and answering in pairs. - Call some pairs to practice in front of the class - Give feedback and correct mistakes of pronunciation. 2. Let’s talk - Tell class that they are going to practice further by asking and answering questions about their holiday. - Get sts to work in pairs (or go around) to ask each other’s addresses in 5 mins - remind them to use the questions and answers in their books - Monitor and help sts - Call some groups act out their work - Give feedback 3. Listen and match. - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and draw lines to match each character to the correct picture. - Ask pupils to look at the pictures to identify the characters and their activities. - Play the recording the second time for pupils to listen and draw lines to match. - Ask pupils to give answers - Play the recording again for pupils to listen and check - Give correct answers. Skills: - Develope Ss’ speaking and listening skill. 3. Competences - Problems solving and creation - Communication and cooperation - Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work - Use language to talk about frequency. 4.
