Knowledge By the end of this lesson, students will be able to - Introduce family members,using : This is my ( father) - Recognize the /ổ/ sound in word: ant - Vocabulary: father, mother, ant 2. Skills: Listening and speaking skills 3. Competences - Problems solving and creation - Communication and cooperation - Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work - Linguistic competence 4. Quality - Humane - Hardworking - Responsible - Honest B. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, projector/TV, laptop, flashcards, real objects 2. Students’ aids: Students’ books, workbooks, rulers, eraser, ruler, crayon, pencil case. C. PROCEDURES Warm-up : Sing a song “ finger family”. I. Presentation 1. Teach vocabulary - Use flashcards to introduce the new words: (father, mother.) - Have students listen to each new word. - Show the pictures of the part A on the projector and ask students to open the books. - Play audio, and point to each flashcard for students to listen - Play audio again and have students point to the pictures in their books. - Play audio again and have students listen and repeat. - Have students work in pairs, one of them points to the picture in the book and the other says the word. - Call some pairs to the board and check. - Introduce the sentence pattern: This is my ( father) - Have Sts listen and repeat sometimes - Have Sts use flashcards to introduce about family members in groups of four - Give comments 2. Play game: Make a line - Have students look at the example. - Give four flashcards for four students. Knowledge By the end of this period, pupils will be able to: - Learn new words about feelings - Talk about how they feel - Recognize the /n/ sound in words: nut, nose - Vocabulary: happy, sad, fine/OK, great, nose, nut - Grammar point: How are you?- I’m (great) 2. Skills: Listening and speaking skills 3. Competences - Problems solving and creation - Communication and cooperation - Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work - Linguistic competence 4. PROCEDURES Warm-up Review - Run through pictures to revise some vocabulary about classroom commands: open your book, close your book, hands up, hands down - Have students to practice the classroom command using structure: Open your book (please). - Introduce the new lesson by showing the pictures (happy, sad, fine/OK, great) on the projector. - Teacher tells the class the useful language of the lesson. I. Presentation 1. Teach vocabulary - Use some realias to introduce the new words (happy, sad, fine/OK, great) - Have students listen to each new word. - Show the pictures of the part A on the projector and ask students to open the books. - Play audio, and point to each flashcard for students to listen (CD1 - Track 12) - Play audio again and have students point to the pictures in their books. - Play audio again and have students listen and repeat. - Have students work in pairs, one of them points to the picture in the book and the other says the word. - Call some pairs to the board and check. - Organize for students to play the game "Guess” - Arrange the flashcards on the board and write a number under each flashcard. - Have students look at one flashcards for the count of ten. Turn the flashcards over to face the board when the students are not looking. - Call out a number and have students take turns to guess the face-down card. Turn the card over after each guess. 2. I always / usually / often / sometimes _____. - Vocabulary: brush my teeth, do morning exercise, cook dinner, watch TV 2. Skills: - Listening and speaking skills 3. Competences - Problems solving and creation - Communication and cooperation - Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work - Use language to talk about daily routine. 4. Quality - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Have good habits. - Love themselves. B. TEACHING AIDS 1. Let’s talk - Tell the class that they are going to practice further by asking and answering questions about where they live. - Set a time limit for the class to practice talking in pairs, answer the questions with information about themselves. - Call a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. - Give feedback. III. Production Play chain game - Divide the class into groups of words (group numbers and the number of students in each group of educational members). - The teacher says a sentence.The groups take turns asking the teacher's and other groups' consecutive sentences. Competences - Problems solving and creation - Communication and cooperation - Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work - Use language to talk about frequency. 4. Quality - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Have good habits. - Love themselves. B. TEACHING AIDS 1. What kind of information is Linda looking for? - Play the recording for pupils to listen to the tape - Play the recording again and ask them to repeat a few times. - Ask pupils to practice in pairs to practice the dialogue. - Go round and check pupils can repeat and understand the dialogue. - Check some pairs. Ask other pupils to give comments. 3. I ... every day/once/twice ... a week/a month. - Say aloud the structure and the words, then ask pupils to repeat the word a few times - Call some pupils to read aloud the structure and the words. - Ask pupils to write down them into their notebook. - Ask pupils to work in pairs, then point at the pictures to ask and answer using the structure. - Call some pairs to practice in front of the class. - Give feedback and correct mistakes of pronunciation 2. Production Let’s play - Tell pupils that they are going to complete a crossword puzzle. - Get pupils to look at the crossword puzzle and the pictures and ask them to think of adverb that describes it - Tell pupils to check whether the spelling fits the letters/boxes in the puzzle. - The first pupil who completes the puzzle correctly is the winner. - Copy the crossword puzzle on the board and invite two pupils to complete it.
