A. OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
1. Knowledge:
- say the sound of the letter G/g and the words garden, girl, goat and 
gate in a chant.
- recognize the words in different situations when listening.
- trace the letter G/g
- Vocabulary: review
- Skills: speaking, writing and listening.
2. Competences: 
- Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work.
- Know how to practise some sounds.
- Know how to chant exactly.
3. Attitude/ Qualities:
-Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. 
Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love learning English 
B. METHODS: 
- Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer.
- Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by 
visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction.
C. TEACHING AIDS:
- Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector.
- Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things.
D. PROCEDURES:

 *Aims: to help ss remember the words that they 
 have learn in lesson 1.
 *Procedure:
 - Ask pupils to look at the picture in Lesson 1, - Ss say the letter and the

 Lesson 2.
 2. New lesson
 Activity 1. Listen and chant
 *Aims: Ss will be able say the sound of the 
 letter G/g and the words garden, gate, girl, and 
 goat in a chant
 *Procedure:
 - Have pupils look at the chant. Say Look at the 
 chant, please! Draw pupils’ attention to the first -Ss listen.
 line and explain its meaning. Ask them to pay 
 attention to the letter G/g and the word goat. 
 Check comprehension. 
 -Ss listen and repeat.
 - Play the recording of the first line for pupils to 
 listen and to get familiarized with the tune, 
 saying Listen to the first line, please! Then have 
 -Ss listen and chant
 them listen again and repeat the sound of the 
 letter g and the word goat individually and in, 
 saying Listen and repeat, please! 
 Follow the same procedure with other lines. 
 Correct pronunciation, if necessary. Show them 
 how to chant and clap hands.
 - Play the recording all the way through again -Ss listen and chant 
 for pupils to listen and do choral and individual 
 repetition, saying Listen and repeat, please! 
 Then play the recording for them to listen and 
 repeat until they feel confident, -Ss chant and do action
 - Put the class into two groups to practise 
 chanting and clapping. Each group should sing 
 one verse of the chant -Ss chant in front of class
 - Encourage some pupils to go to the front of 
 the class to chant and clap their hands. The rest

 Activity 2 Listen and tick:
 *Aims: Ss will be able to listen, recognize the -Look at the picture and

 - Encourage some pupils to point to the pictures

 - Have pupils look at the letter G (upper case)

 - Write the upper case G and the lower case g in - Ss listen

Activity 1. Listen and repeat:
*Aims: Ss will be able to listen and repeat the 
sentence “There is a garden.”
*Procedures:
- Have pupils look at the picture of a garden and 
say What is it? It’s a garden. Point to the picture -Look at the picture and listen.

for pupils to listen. Explain the meaning of the 
sentence and how it is used. Check 
comprehension.
- Play the recording several times again for pupils 
to listen and repeat the sentence, saying Now -Listen and repeat.

Activity 3. Let’s sing
*Aims: Ss will be able to sing a song with the 
structure “I have a _____.”
*Procedure:
- Have pupils read the first verse to get 
familiarized themselves with the lyrics. Say Now 
read the first verse, please! Check comprehension.
- Play the recording several times for pupils to 
repeat line after line to make sure that they can -Ss look and listen.
